MFL Foundation for Cancer Prevention Gala Nov. 3
MFL FOUNDATION PREPARES FOR 4th ANNUAL GALA – NOVEMBER 3
BAYONNE, NJ – The Madeline Fiadini LoRe Foundation for Cancer Prevention (MFL Foundation) will hold the organization’s 4th Annual Gala on Saturday, November 3, 2012 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Puccini’s Restaurant, 1064 West Side Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey.
The MFL Foundation is focused on increasing awareness and funding cancer screenings to the area’s underserved community who may otherwise be denied treatment. The mission is to make cancer prevention programs available to the community by granting access to test and/or screenings necessary for the prevention and early detection of various forms of cancer in men and women.
“The Gala is the single-most important event on the MFL Foundation calendar,” commented Ms. LoRe. “The event provides a significant portion of the funding that goes to provide tests and screenings while providing a wonderful evening of entertainment with the added satisfaction of supporting a very valid need in our community.”
Dinner and dancing will be the order of the day, with a live orchestra, a live auction led by a professional auctioneer, an elaborate cocktail hour, followed by a superb meal.
Tickets to the black tie optional event are $160 per person and may be obtained by contacting the MFL Foundation office at 605 Broadway, Bayonne, NJ, by calling 201-437-9100, or by email at Carol@mflfoundation.com.
Madeline Fiadini LoRe, founder of the Foundation, was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 32. Ten years ago she learned she had breast cancer. The fight to beat that diagnosis only strengthened her resolve to bring the best possible care to Bayonne area residents.
Losing her brother to liver cancer a decade ago spurred her resolve to begin an aggressive fund-raising effort that resulted in the establishment of the John C. Fiadini Center for Out Patient Oncology opened at Bayonne Hospital. Subsequently, the hospital dedicated its new Madeline Fiadini Lo Re Women's Center in her honor. The, Center offers preventative screenings for a number of types of cancer.
The Foundation works closely with the medical community in Hudson County, specifically the Jersey City Medical Center, Bayonne Medical Center, and Hoboken University Medical Center. All individuals who can access these facilities are potentially eligible for Foundation support.
