Bloomingdale's new Brandt Lane animal shelter, the North Jersey Community Animal Shelter, has a wish list of needs, according to the Borough of Bloomingdale's website.

Purina brand cat chow, kitten chow and dog chow are the first items on the list, as well as canned cat and dog food. Medium-sized dog beds and toys for both cats and dogs are also requested.

Other needs include:

• Small paper plates
• Cat beds (machine washable)
• Crates and cages (any sizes)
• Laundry detergent
• Bleach
