Bomb-Making Materials Found in Bloomingdale Garage

Man was not sure how 'suspicious items' used to detonate explosives got in his home.

The Passaic County Bomb Squad was called to a Roy Avenue home Sunday to assist with removing bomb-making materials from a resident's garage.

The materials, believed to be used to detonate explosive devices, were found in the garage of the resident who called police himself to report the "suspicious items," according to Bloomingdale police Ptl. Dan Fletcher. Officers arrived on the scene around 11:30 a.m. after the resident said he was unsure how the items got in the garage.

"There were no signs of entry into the garage prior to the resident entering," Fletcher said in a report.

The bomb squad removed the items and no injuries were reported. Bloomingdale police Sgt. Robert Ressland Ptl. Marc Loveland assisted.

Yes, but they were able to make it to the house by themselves.

The homeowners says he have no idea how all this bomb making stuff got in his garage. Oh! Let me help him remember. You carried it into your garage and put it there. Then you got a nasty case of paranoia so you thought you’d be smart and report yourself before the authorities came down on you!

Hope that helps!
