I'm eating healthy, I'm exercising. I'm doing everything everyone says I need to do to lose weight, but it's just not coming off fast enough.

This is the dilemma I'm faced with as we're nearly three weeks away from the conclusion of my weight loss challenge against Nate Adams. I decided to check out Taste of Dawn, in Butler, to see what natural supplements I could be taking to boost my weight loss efforts.

Taste of Dawn, a natural foods, vitamins and herbs store, carries lots of natural pills, powders and foods that are meant to help people achieve optimal health. Owner Fred Shafer took me on a tour of his store and showed me the products Taste of Dawn carries that are specifically geared towards weight loss.

Shafer recommended the Taste of Dawn Ultra Cleansing System, a night-and-day pill program that detoxifies your body, but allows you to carry on your normal diet, whereas some detox programs require you to cut out certain foods. While this system does not tell specifically suggest cutting out some foods, Shafer recommends anyone interested in serious weight loss to consider what they are eating.

"Obviously if you're really serious about weight loss, you will want to modify your diet," he said.

The 30-day program costs $26.95.

After the initial weight loss, Shafer recommended drinking green shake supplements which he said energize the body and provide concentrated nutrients, as well as satisfy the appetite. These shakes can range in cost from $20 to $50 for a month supply, Shafer said.
