Butler Man in 'Serious Condition' After Being Struck By Tree
Police said man was outside when a tree collapsed on him Monday night.
A Butler man is in "serious condition" at Morristown Medical Center Tuesday after a tree collapsed on his head Monday night.
The incident occurred just as Tropical Storm Sandy continued to gain momentum Monday.
Butler police Capt. Ciro Chimento described the 50-year-old's condition as "serious" Wednesday. Chimento said police and EMS officials responded to his Kiel Avenue residence around 7 p.m. after a tree snapped in his backyard and struck him on the head.
He was transported to Morristown Medical Center by Tri-Boro First Aid Squad.
Also Tuesday Kinnelon police reported a storm-related death when an 84-year-old man had a heart attack while preparing for the storm.

Margy, I am his neighbor in the same duplex. He is still in serious condition but stable as per his wife last night. We are all praying here that he makes a full recovery.
