Accused Murder's Sister Could Be Called as Witness
Butler woman will stand trial for allegedly shooting husband to death in 2010.
As Amalia Mirasola, the woman accused of shooting her husband to death inside their Butler home in 2010, prepares to stand trial next month, her sister, Edna Gonzalez, may be called as a witness in the trial.
According to the Daily Record, Morris County Assistant Prosecutor Matthew Troiano has said he may call Gonzalez to the stand because she knew details of the marriage between 47-year-old Mirasola and her husband, Carl Mirasola. Mirasola was arrested on May 22, 2010 after Butler police responded to a call of her allegedly saying she shot her husband.
Mirasola, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and is wheelchair-bound, at one point petitioned to move to Florida, where her sister is from. The case began pre-trial hearings in October.
