Butler Police Collecting Unwanted Medicine
Drop-off times to be held Sept. 29 at Butler police station.
The Butler Police Department will be collected unwanted and expired medication this month as part of “Operation Take Back New Jersey.”
On Sept. 29, the police department will partner with the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, Morris County Prosecutor's Office and Drug Enforcement Administration and host the program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police station.
"The goal of the program is to allow citizens to deliver their unused, unwanted or expired medications to law enforcement officials who can dispose of these controlled dangerous substances in a safe and non-hazardous manner, preventing these medications from falling into the wrong hands or into the illicit market within in our community," police said in a press release.
The medication drop-off process will be anonymous and no names or sensitive information will be asked.
