Butler 'Eggstravaganza' to Kick Off Saturday
The Butler Recreation Commission will be hosting its annual "Easter Eggstravaganza" on Saturday at the Stonybrook Swim Club from 10 a.m. to noon. During the event, kids will be able to participate in a bonnet contest and egg hunt while listening to music, eating snacks and doing crafts. Mr. E. Bunny will also make a special appearance during the event.
The Bloomingdale Recreation Commission will also be hosting an Easter egg hunt for fourth-graders and younger March 30 at noon at the Walter T. Bergen School field. Last year's egg hunt in Bloomingdale drew more than 300 kids and had student-volunteers from the school assisting with the event.
Bloomingdale BOE Budget Talk to Continue
The Bloomingdale Board of Education will continue discussion on its $19,279,099 2013-14 budget during the board's meeting this week. The budget was approved by the board and sent to the Passaic County Superintendent of Schools on March 4.
The budget that was approved by the board includes a tax levy of $15,422,086. For the average Bloomingdale homeowner whose house is assessed at $254,000, the budget would mean an annual increase of $242.29.
The council will be meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the Walter T. Bergen School library.
