Escaped Convict From Lincoln Park Apprehended

All four inmates who escaped from a Hunterdon County youth correctional facility have been arrested.

After nearly a week on the run, the last escaped inmate who broke out of the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility last weekend was arrested on Sunday morning, according to Danielle Hunter, a spokeswoman for the New Jersey Department of Corrections.

Michael Bentley, 23, of Lincoln Park, was arrested in Hardyston Township in Sussex County by the Department of Corrections at 4:45 a.m., Hunter said.

Bentley and Corey Agostarola, who were spotted in Butler on Friday, will face an additional three to five years in prison for the escape, according to Hunter.

Agostarola was arrested on Friday night.

Hats off to the officers from Hardyston, West Milford, Vernon, the NJ State Police, and the NJ DOC. My husband and I listened in on the scanner from the time the chase passed our area on Rt 23 until the suspect was captured. Fantastic job by all!!

Those other offenses will probably result in more charges. They should also have to serve some time in a place like Rahway or Trenton if only or a couple of weeks to realize what a country club atmosphere that the place in Hunterdon County is.

I knew Michael from Pre-K to High School. From 4th-6th grade he would try instigating fights with me for no reason. One day after school while walking home he blindsided me and pounced on my chest and attempted to choke me, only to have some parents rush over to get him off. They said he had no reason to do this and that I was just minding my own business. However, as we got older he respected me and we got along fine. He was notorious for lunchroom brawls. Hopefully things will pan out for the better. Best wishes.
