Fire Dept. to Host Free 4th of July Car Wash
Voluntary donations to benefit Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Co.
The Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Co. will be hosting its annual free Fourth of July car wash Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Route 23 Car Wash in the Route 23 Auto Care Mall in Kinnelon.
During the car wash, donations will be welcomed and will benefit the fire company.

Actually the Route 23 Car Wash is located in the Route 23 Auto Care Mall, 1167 Route 23 southbound in Kinnelon. It is a bit different than the Route 23 Auto Mall which is the huge Ford and Nissan dealership at 1301 Route 23 southbound in Butler.

It is a common mistake. When Wayne Johnson & Sons built the auto care mall circa 1989, the dealership was then Kaytes Ford which later acquired Nissan and then about a dozen years ago it was sold and became the Route 23 Auto Mall. As I now work in my retirement job at Enterprise Rent A Car located in that building I have gotten to see how busy the auto care mall is. Depeneding on weather, the car wash is visited by hundreds of customers daily, sometimes 700 or more.
