Girl Scouts Gear Up for Bloomingdale Talent Show

Troop will raise money for bird habitat they are constructing at Walter T. Bergen School.

Bloomingdale Girl Scout Troop Junior 71146 is hard at work preparing for a talent show the troop is hosting on April 5 at the Samuel R. Donald School.

During the talent show, the girls will ask for a $5 donation at the door from attendees which will go toward the troop's project, a Bluebird Trail and Backyard Bird Habitat the girls will be installing this spring at the Walter T. Bergen School.

"The project will include native plants, feeders, a birdbath, educational signs, nesting boxes and a path," according to Troop Leader Meg Gray.

The project is part of the troop's Bronze Award the girls are working toward.

In addition to constructing the items that will be housed in the bird habitat, the girls have also been practicing their talents and learning about stage skills as they prepare to host the talent show fundraiser. They have also met with younger Girl Scouts to explain their project and boost excitement for the talent show.

The talent show will begin at 7 p.m. on April 5.
