K-Fest Bringing Back Hayrides, Beach Games This Year
Borough's second annual festival will include an artist's colony and kid zone.
The second annual K-Fest is almost here and its organizing committee has promised this year's event will bring back many of the favorite activities from last year.
K-Fest will be held on Oct. 21 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lake Rickabear.
Beach games, bingo, hayrides, arts and crafts, a magician, live music and more will be included in the activities that day. The food court will also return with food from local vendors (some of which was served by Kinnelon Council members last year) and opportunities to donate to Kinnelon-based not-for-profit organizations, such as Friends of Chas and the Kinnelon Volunteer Animal Shelter will be available.
"K-Fest will be a townwide celebration. We are celebrating Kinnelon and the people who live here," Councilman Jim Freda said. "We will have food, bands, music, kid rides, contests, hayrides, bingo and a lot more fun stuff. This will be a great day for people of all ages."
A pumpkin patch and petting zoo will also be at the event and one of the major highlights from last year, the pie-eating contest, will return.
K-Fest is a free event for Kinnelon residents only. A non-stop shuttle will be available to provide transportation to and from Kinnelon High School, where additional parking is located.

Back in the 60's, my family attended an open house hosted by Lake Rickabear and we found all the neat things to do there. I even learned how to play bocce ball.
