Two weeks after finding a spot the top high schools in the nation as ranked by U.S. News & World Report, Kinnelon High School has garnered more recognition.
Newsweek announced Monday that Kinnelon High School has made its list of "America's Best High Schools 2012." The publication listed its top 1,000 public high schools "that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads."
The publication ranked Kinnelon 456 in the country. The top-rated school in the state was Freehold's Biotechnology High School, coming in at No. 20. The school with the best rank in Morris County was Chatham High School, rated No. 183 in the nation.
The publication says its list is based on six components provided by school administrators. Those are graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores, and AP courses offered per student.
This is the fourth year the publication has honored Kinnelon. Last year the school was ranked 182 in the nation, it's highest of the four years.
