Pedestrian Struck on Route 46 Dies From Injuries

Hackensack man was on Route 46 West when he was struck by car Aug. 11.

 

The man who was struck by a car on Route 46 West on Aug. 11 has died, Wayne Police said.

Larry McFadden, 61, of Hackensack, was pronounced dead Monday, Aug. 13 at 5:17 a.m. Sgt. Joseph Duncan said in an e-mail.

McFadden was in critical condition after Andriy Royik, 21, of Melrose Park, Pa., allegedly struck McFadden near Fairfield Road at about 9 p.m. while he was traveling on Route 46 West. Royik was not injured in the crash, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident.

A lot of details are missing here. Was the man who died in a car or just walking on Rt 46?

The article is titled "Pedestrian Struck on Rt 46 Dies From Injuries". This means that the man was not in a car. He must have been walking on or crossing the highway. I see people do this too often. Very sad.....
