Morris Catholic Falls to Trenton Catholic in State Group Finals
Senior Idera Sade leads way in loss with 22 points.
The Morris Catholic girls basketball team fell to Trenton Catholic on Saturday 60-49 in the State Non-Public B Championship game at Pine Belt Arena in Toms River.
The Crusaders took at 31-30 lead into the locker room at halftime but were unable to hold the lead over the final 10 minutes of the game as the Iron Mikes of Trenton outscored the Crusaders 24-7 over the final 9:30.
The Crusaders, who shot 18 for 38 in the first half including six for 11 from beyond the three-point arc, could only manage six field goals in the second half and only one of 14 from three-point distance.
Senior Idera Sade lead the way for the Crusaders with 22-points. Junior center Anna Toke had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Alexa Giuliano and freshman Rachel Mills each had eight points.
