Obituary: Butler Man Worked As State Trooper for 28 Years
Preston Fairlamb Jr. funeral held Wednesday.
The following is an obituary for Preston "Jay" Fairlamb Jr., of Butler, from The Morrison Funeral Home, in Butler. Fairlamb was killed in a motorcycle accident on May 13.
Preston "Jay" Fairlamb Jr., age 64, of Butler, died Sunday, May 13, 2012.
Jay was born in Paterson, NJ, the son of the late Preston and the late Flora (Winters) Fairlamb. Jay was a retired New Jersey State Trooper, serving as a Lieutenant before retiring in 2002. He primarily worked in Troop B, which covers northern New Jersey, during his 28 years as a trooper.
He was a member of Rolling Thunder and also The Blue Knights. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his beloved children, Preston "Jay" III, Kimberly and Scott, as well as four cherished grandchildren.
Viewing hours will be held Tuesday, May 29 from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at St. Anthony's RC Church, 65 Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. A funeral ceremony was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. also at St. Anthony RC Church, Butler. Final disposition will be private.
