Police Break Up Party by Butler Reservoir

Several underage individuals allegedly intoxicated.

 

Kinnelon police broke up a party by the Butler reservoir Saturday where several underage individuals were allegedly intoxicated, some in possession of drugs.

According to police, Ptl. Christopher Mucci responded to Bubbling Brook Road at 11:37 p.m. and saw several cars parked side by side blocking the entrance of the street by the Butler Reservoir. Mucci called Sgt. Joseph Napoletano and Ptl. Melisa Huizenga for assistance when he saw several people coming from the woods who were allegedly intoxicated.

Police said they determined there was a party in the woods after speaking to the individuals and several were arrested on the scene. Bijon F. Spinazzola, 19, of Kinnelon, was charged with possession of hydrocodone; Chelsea M. Alcock, 19, of Butler, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; Chelsea L. Plog, 19, of Butler, was charged with underage possession of alcohol; a 17-year-old male from Butler was charged with underage possession of alcohol, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; a 16-year-old-male from Butler was charged with underage possession of alcohol and a 17-year-old female from Butler was charged with underage possession of alcohol.

Police said all of the juveniles were released to their parents and the adults also released with tickets to appear in court at a later date.

Unfortunately same stuff has been happening in this part of New Jersey and all over the nation for many years. I remember doing stories about similar incidents for the Suburban Trends under Howard Ball's leadership back in 1970.

we used to get chased out of there all the time, and the same for partying on the tracks or the woods by the race (amerace trail) behind the butler train station, it was just alcohol in those days.. 40 years ago... probably 30 yrs before us even...
