The time has come for true internet voting, and this is just a small step closer to that.

The potential for fraud here is mind-boggling. There are so many ways to game this system it's laughable. Here's my prediction. Democratic candidates will "win" thanks to a plurality of email ballots submitted by people whose average age is 82 years old.

What a logistical nightmare. It's nearly Sunday. And people are supposed to somehow get to a fax or e-mail on computer and get a ballot and then fill it out and scan it and get it back by 8 p.m. on Tuesday. And how does everyone KNOW to do this in the first place? And provisionals will not be counted until two weeks later -- if at ALL.

Better to allow people to exercise their right to vote and risk voter fraud that to suspend Constitutional rights! Fraud can be managed, rights are rights.

It appears that the form to apply for a ballot is not interactive. I cannot fill it out on my iPhone, and I do not have access to a printer or fax machine. So Christie expects those without power, heat, homes to go hunting for a printer? Are there going to be stations at, say, public libraries to facilitate this? This all seems very ill conceived and hastily thrown together. I am feeling disenfranchised at the moment...

If people can vote early then we should be able to vote late. This is a state of emergency and there needs to be some accommodations made for those that don't have power and can't get out of our houses. Fraud will be rampant and that is unacceptable in such an important presidential election.

Can I just show up at my regular polling place on Tuesday morning? I vote at the elementary school near Meisel and Springfield Ave.

I guess my vote doesn't count because nj isn't a swing state.

Since when is fraud limited to just the Democrats in NJ or elswwhere for that matter.

Good for New Jersey. If *every* Democratic vote cast in NJ were fraudulent, the net effect on the outcome of this election would be *less* than the impact of voter roll purges, restrictions on early voting, and the voter suppression laws enacted by the eleven or so GOP-dominated legislatures and statehouses across the country. Btw..the only people facing jail time for voter fraud this year are Republicans.

I agree with rescue. Why aren't we extending voting until one week after power has been restored. Our family feels fortunate to only have lost power and water. Voting will still be a challenge for me, but I will get it done. There are so many people who lives are completely upside down. It is not realistic to expect they will have access to voting. Please let NJ be known for making sure everyone has the opportunity to have their vote counted!

Please someone post an email address that will WORK for Essex county clerk. As expected they are overwhelmed and have not provided an alternate email address for people to send in paperwork. So much for providing the option for out-of-state displaced NJ voters in Essex County! LT GOV - what can you do for us? We are in danger of our votes not counting!!!

Emailing and fax voting so shouldn't be allowed -- the potential for fraud is tremendous. Non-existent ID verification. What a joke this is. First the laughing stock of the way NJ government is dealing with the aftermath of the storm damage and now this. What is next -- to governor handing out free casino chips to Atlantic City which had the power back on before the NJ working class ???

Lt Governor. If you really want Obama to win this is the way to do it. How many immigrants do you think will get thru this loop hole and vote. I live in Hoboken and currently still do not have power. I had to leave the state and move back to Michigan with my baby because of the temperature and lack of heat. I was extremely excited to see that New Jersey was being proactive. However -- I tried to fill the form out and see that it is not accessible via the computer -- it must be printed, filled out and scanned back. I am working remotely -- only computer access. I called the number you listed - they transferred me to the voting division who transferred me to hudson county clerk...who when i pushed in the number for the voting division has a recording they are not accepting calls at this time. I take back my proactive thought of this. You know people are without power and normal everyday working procedures. People are trying to fill these out by their smart phones because it is the only cell service possible. Answering AMEN to people's frustration is very unprofessional and not appreciated. Instead of realizing you should have made the form interactive so more people could have used it -- you are believing you did all that was possible. Let me tell you -- you haven't. I was told I would have to drive to the county clerk's office by your LT Gov office. When I explained I was out of state -- oh well -- just transfer her. Shame on you for making us believe it would be easy during this time.

LG, I stopped reading after the 50th back and forth. I have to tell you I give you a lot of credit, for having the patience to answer these questions going back and forth and over and over. It's all over whelming, everyone's working hard to find a way to make it easier and hopefully give everyone more options and the opportunity to vote. The storm and it's after math is neither Democrat nor Republican and I doubt either group as a whole will take advantage. Some idiots here and there will, and they'll get caught. The fact that we're making this happen any which way we can says a lot in my opinion . I for one Thank You and everyone who is working round the clock for the State and our people. I reported a problem with email voting to the hotline. Contacted Passaic County on the 3rd and still have not gotten ANY response on ballot via email. VERY ANGRY that this is being handled so poorly. I hope the students at the hotline are able to pressure election officials into actually doing their JOBS!
