Students of the Month Honored in Butler
Richard Butler School administrators praise students for good attitude, helping others.
Four middle schoolers were honored during Monday night's Butler Board of Education meeting for exhibiting strong character and a willingness to help their peers.
The students-Sean Centinaro (sixth grade), Amber Vander Goot (eighth grade), Kate Toscano (fifth grade) and Amanda Sweeney (seventh grade)- were honored as part of the school's revamped "Student of the Month Recognition Program."
Richard Butler School Principal Andrea Vladichak said her to administration interns decided to bring the program back to the school this year as a way to commend students on being leaders in the school community.
As the students were presented, they were described as showing pride for their school and in their work, trustworthiness, school spirit and thoughtfulness of others.
"They can be positive role models for our community and, of course, the student body," one of the presenters said.
Each student was given a certificate of achievement for their accomplishments.
