Suspended Butler Fireman Avoids Trial

John B. Futcher admitted to Pre-Trial Intervention in Morris County Court Tuesday.

One of the two who was suspended from the department after being charged with a burglary of the Carey Avenue firehouse was admitted to the Morris County Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI) program Tuesday, according to the Daily Record.

The Daily Record reported John B. Futcher III, 20, admitted no criminal wrongdoing, will be on probation for one year and will be required to complete 50 hours of community service. He will also be required to forfeit his position as a volunteer with the department.

Futcher was with burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, theft and receiving stolen property. The PTI program is typically offered to first-time offenders.
