A Bloomingdale man deemed 'suspicious' by police was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly acting strange and making statements about having a gun at Quick Chek on Hamburg Turnpike Tuesday.

Kenneth Daut, 43, was not found to be in possession of any weapons but was arrested on the charges and transported to the Bloomingdale police station. He was later released with a date to appear in court.

Police responded to Quick Chek just after 5 a.m. where witnesses said that a man who was "not acting right," according to a report prepared by Ptl. Daniel Fletcher, allegedly made statements about having a gun. Daut, who Fletcher said matched the description provided by witnesses, was found by Ptl. Steven Smith and Sgt. Robert Ressland near the municipal building on Hamburg Turnpike.

When Daut saw the officers, Fletcher said, he started to move quickly and mumble words the officers were unable to understand. Fletcher said Daut kept his hands in his pockets the entire time he was talking to Smith and Ressland. The officers physically restrained Daut and arrested him. Ptl. Marc Loveland also assisted with the arrest.
