Tebow Mania hit New Jersey on Monday, but it was the media and not the fans who bombarded the New York Jets’ Morris County training facility as the most-publicized backup QB acquisition ever was officially unveiled.

Tim Tebow spoke to reporters for the first time since the trade, saying he expects a "great working relationship" with current quarterback Mark Sanchez, according to ESPN.com

Tebow’s introductory conference caused a larger crowd than any free agent, trade, or Rex Ryan comment fallout Gang Green has ever seen since moving to the Atlantic Health Jets Training Facility in Florham Park. The proof: it was the first time the team ever had to herd the press into the field house to accommodate a greater presence. More than 200 media members reportedly attended.

Yet, the organization actually attempted to downplay the event, with none of the team’s top brass attending, including general manager Mike Tannenbaum of Basking Ridge. The Jets also refrained from officially calling it a press conference.

It was the first time the team’s prized acquisition was presented to the media at-large since the team traded for the then-Denver Bronco on Wednesday. Patch asked readers that day what they thought of the trade, and that debate continues.

Tebow flew into Morristown Municipal Airport on Thursday and came to the complex following his arrival. Fans made their way to welcome him last week, though they weren’t seen in droves on Monday like the media was. In fact, a blog by ESPN.com giving the play-by-play from Florham Park covered the media presence itself in multiple posts before Tebow spoke.

He knows where he is. It's just that the Jets/Giants are too embarrassed to change the name of their franchise to the Jersey Jets/Giants.

Tebow will be gone by middle of the season, he is here to get some numbers on the books and then we will trade him for #1 and #3 round picks to Jacksonville who will be 0-5 out of the gate and making strong offers for him. This is all a ruse, Jets have no use for him. Get a grip folks.

No one would ever trade a 1st rd pick for Tebow. If you think so, than you know nothing about the NFL. Tebow is here because the Jets organization has no idea what it is doing.

I'm excited and can't wait for Tebow to run the wildcat for the Jets. Maybe it will give Sanchez the kick in the butt he needs to improve. If it doesn't and Sanchez sucks again, then it is time to move on.
