Morris Twp. Fire Dept. came around to us on Picatinny Road, encouraged us to find other accomodations, said another 24-48 hours without power most likely. Township is doing a lot more work cleaning up trees on Western Avenue now...quicker response than with hurricane. Definitely more damage.

My family tried to get home last night from Panera Bread which is only like 1.2 miles but ended up driving for 3 hours around town and stayed at one of our friend's house in Morris Plains. Power outage and road blocks on the sides of Rt. 10 and many down trees over a few roads caused the inconvenience. Power is back after a little more than 24 hours. Hope it stays. Be safe, everyone.

Rt. 53 is closed both directions between Park Rd and Country Club Rd this noon. The intersections between Rt. 53 and Rt-10 are open. Juggle handle U and Left turns on both sides of Rt. 10 on Parisppany/Morris Plains section are closed mainly due to power outage and no traffic light signal. Hope they'll be open soon.

aww I feel so bad for all the cats and dogs who are homeless or who were let outside during storm and got lost. Glad you are taking good care of the kitten. The kitten might have a chip so if you don't hear anything soon maybe bring the kitten to vet to see if it has a chip.

As bad as they are things would be a whole lot worse if overhanging tree limbs hadn't been aggressively cut back over the past couple of years. I know it always looks awful after they get done, but it makes a difference.
Still way too many big branches over major roads. Some gigantic potential car crushers on Vreeland Avenue in Boonton, and Old Bloomfield Ave in Parsippany.
