Cops: Allegedly Drunk Man Crashed Into Utility Pole
Two hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
An Ogdensburg man was arrested on DUI charges in Butler Monday after police said the vehicle he was driving collided with a utility poll at about 8:45 p.m. on Kakeout Road. He and a 20-year-old female passenger, whose name was not released, sustained non-life threatening injuries to their heads and were transported to Morristown Trauma Center.
Thomas M. Curtain, 23, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane.
Police said they received a report of the single-car accident and responded to the scene. Curtain had allegedly crossed over the double yellow line and collided with the pole. Alcohol was detected on Curtain’s breath, police said.
Curtain was released to hospital officials with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
