What is Open on Thanksgiving in the Tri-Boro?
Thanksgiving 2012 has many businesses open during the holiday.
As you prepare to open up your home to relatives or begin baking pies to bring to a friend's house, we wanted you to know what is open and closed on Thanksgiving Day in case you venture out.
Here are a few things we confirmed by talking to business owners:
- Dunkin Donuts (all four tri-boro locations) will be open
- Kinnelon Bagel will be open
- The Butler and Bloomingdale Post Offices will be closed
- Bloomingdale Buy Rite Wines & Liquors will be open
- Kinnelon Country Wine & Liquor will be open but closed after 1 p.m.
- Rite Aid will be open
- Candy Shack, in Bloomingdale, will be open Thursday until 1 p.m. and regular hours on Friday

Back in the early 1980's the 2 cops on duty in Butler and myself had Chinese food for Thanksgiving from the Peking House at Butler Plaza, Route 23 northbound in Butler, because nothing else was open.

BTW, Kinnelon Bagel in Meadtown Shopping Center is not located at 1500 Route 23, Kinnelon. The even numbers are northfound and it is southbound which I believe is 1483 Route 23 with the building and the parking lot closest to the building in Kinnelon but the highway is in Butler.
