The Triboro Major Softball Mets won their league championship against a strong team from Pompton Lakes. The Mets dominated the early going with some strong pitching, steadfast defense, and some timely hitting.

The Pompton Lakes team attempted a thrilling last-inning effort to win the game by putting the tying run on second base with less than two outs. The Triboro pitching shut the door by striking out the final two hitters and securing the victory. The large crowd, loaded with fans from both communities, was treated to an exciting ending to a well played game by both teams.
