VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Special Olympics Winter Games

Special Olympics New Jersey is seeking volunteers for the 2014 Winter Games, which take place January 27-29 at Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ and Skylands Ice World in Stockholm, NJ.

Volunteers must register online at https://2013sonjws.theregistrationsystem.com/en/1918. The online system allows volunteers to view available positions and sign up for the shift(s) they are interested in. Some, but not all, volunteer position require skiing experience. Most volunteer positions are for volunteers ages 16 and above; however, there are limited positions for volunteers under age 16.

Mountain Creek hosts two full days of Alpine and Cross Country Skiing, Snowboarding and Snowshoeing on Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speed Skating competition will take place on Tuesday only, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Skylands Ice World. Approximately 500 athletes from across the state are competing.
