10 Months After Sandy, Flagpole Still Not Fixed

Butler officials want 133-foot pole fixed, but the project continues to be delayed.

Its coming up on a year that Super storm Sandy hit North Jersey and the flag pole and cell phone tower on Main Street still isn’t fixed, NorthJersey.com reported.

SBA Communications Corp., the 133-foot pole’s owner, has failed to repair an 8-foot section of the pole, the website reported. Metal plating that covers the pole was blown off during Sandy.

Residents have also complained that the American flag on the pole is deteriorating. The flag cannot be lowered and replaced until the pole is repaired.
