5 Things: Authors Coming to Tri-Boro and More

5 things you need to know this weekend.

In December, Santa Claus came to town. Now that it's January, several authors will be stopping in the tri-boro.

You need to know which authors are coming and when, but that's not all you need to know this weekend. Here are five things:

  1. You Need to Know Tom Birdseye is Coming for Author Day: is hosting Author Day Friday and Birdseye will be signing copies of his books purchased by students' parents. Birdseye is the author of Storm Mountain, Attack of the Mutant Underwear, A Tough Nut to Crack, Tarantula Shoes, Oh Yeah!, Look Out Jack! The Giant is Back!, Soap! Soap! Don't Forget the Soap! and A Kids' Guide to Building Forts.
  2. You Need to Know Mary Ryzuk is Coming to Butler: Ryzuk, the author of The Gainesville Ripper, about a Florida serial killer, will be speaking about her book and signing autographs at the on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
  3. You Need to Know Gordon T. Ward is Coming to Talk About Ghosts: The author's most recent book, Ghosts of Central Jersey, will be the topic of a discussion at the on Feb. 5 at 3 p.m.
  4. You Need to Know the Kinnelon Library is Also Hosting Family Fun Night: The event is being held at the library at 5 p.m. Friday and will feature games, storytelling, and more. Registration is required and can be done by calling the library at 973-838-1321.
  5. You Need to Know the is Hosting Children's Hour: Children's Hour will feature board games and crafts and will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon.
