The Knights of Columbus Chapter of Our Lady of the Magnificat of Kinnelon held a benefit breakfast for the family of Alex Vitaro at the church on Sunday. 

Vitaro was a 21-year-old Kinnelon resident who passed away suddenly from a suspected heart defect a few weeks ago while vacationing with family and friends on the Dominican Republic island of Punta Cana.

The proceeds from voluntary donations of dozens of Kinnelon and other area residents attending the event benefited the Vitaro family.
