Forge Road Repair Work will Begin Soon

Mayor Collins said he hopes the work gets done 'in a reasonable period of time.'

Forge Road in Kinnelon will be rebuilt two years after it was severely damaged by Tropical Storm Irene, NorthJersey.com reported.

The bridge on the road was washed out and the bidding process to complete the work has taken a long time, officials said.

“It’s taken us two years to get the project out to bid and awarded,” said Mayor Robert Collins. “The state took their time approving the project.”

Work will be done on the roadway between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. until mid December.

There are five homes on the cul-de-sac and the residents need to gain access to their homes. The Department of Public Works constructed a temporary access to the homes.
