Kinnelon CERT Training New Members

Community Emergency Response Team class will begin Feb. 5

Kinnelon's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will begin training new members on Feb. 5.

Kinnelon residents who expressed interest in joining the group after Superstorm Sandy will come together at the Kiel Avenue firehouse at 7 p.m. to learn about what the volunteer group does before, after and during emergency situations. Even those who did not express interest yet but are now thinking about joining are encouraged to attend.

The training program will be six consecutive weeks long and will include textbook education, hands-on training and presentations from guest speakers. At the conclusion of the training, participants will be certified to be able to assist in emergency events like Sandy.
