Riverdale Art Center Hosts Open House

The Riverdale Art Center will be holding an open house, Thursday, to encourage art in the community.

The event will feature live music and teaching demos while showing off gallery space, artists' studios and classes.

“We believe that the hands-on practice of art encourages a strong sense of well-being, and that sharing art can build community,” members said. “Now more than ever, with funding cut backs, communities must find a way to cultivate the arts.”

Art programs also empower communities and can stimulate new ways of seeing the world, they said.
