Sirens Sound For Santa

St. Nick rides into Kinnelon, courtesy of Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Co. 1 Engine 2.

Santa Claus rode through Kinnelon, handing out candy and posing for photos on Sunday. Old Saint Nick didn't use his sleigh, but instead rode atop a fire truck, courtesy of  1 Engine 2.

Santa, along with Kinnelon Fire Capt. Tom Stearn, and a few members of the fire department, began his ride a little after 10 a.m. The fire truck with Santa aboard made its way along the roads of Kinnelon, stopping frequently to give out candy canes and dog bisquits to residents who had dogs.

"Kinnelon is a big town and there would be too many kids to sit on Santa's lap," Stearn said, "so we have him ride through town to make it easier for him."
