Wild Turkey Breaks Into Home, Causes $5K in Damage

A wild turkey smashed through a Smoke Rise resident’s home window and ran around inside, causing $5,000 worth of damages, NJ.com reported.

The large male turkey “ran amok” inside the house and broke shelves, vases and other items, Kinnelon police Lt. John Schwartz told the website.

When police attempted to get the bird to go outside, the turkey ran into a room and crashed through a double-pane window and fled into the woods, Schwartz said.

Schwartz said the bird left “feces everywhere.”
