Where to Get Gas – Tell Your Neighbors

High demand and lack of electricity is creating lines and hours-long backups.

Lines have stretched for blocks and lasted hours before some residents have been able to get gas.

If they even found a place to fill up.

From vehicle fill-ups to the need to keep the generators running, gasoline is at a premium as a post-Tropical Storm Sandy New Jersey continues to wait for electricity to return.

So, we're asking you, the faithful Patch readers, to tell your neighbors where gas is available, for how much, and what the wait time was when you were there.

Add those details to our comments section, and thanks for helping out!

The Exxon in Oakland, by 202 and 208, has gas. There were lines of cars waiting and police were keeping the peace. There were also lines of people on foot holding gas cans. This was around 12 noon today. Parts of Oakland seem to have power.

Hess on Rt. 23 N in Bulter still has gas as of 4am. There was no line at 4am and only a 30-min wait last night around 11pm.
