Wild West at the Kiel School Corral

A rootin', tootin' good time in Kinnelon Thursday.

held its annual "Musical Extravaganza" at the on Thursday. The name of the show was Wild West at the Kiel Corral and the music event involved first- and second-graders.

First-graders performed in the morning and the second-graders performed in the afternoon. They performed song and dance routines before an auditorium filled with family members, friends and school faculty.

Kiel School music teachers Christine Redo and Lisa Wichman worked with the students since the beginning of the year in preparation for the event. Each year, the school presents a musical with a special theme. This year’s theme was cowboys and western-style music. The children and teachers dressed up in traditional cowboy and cowgirl clothing and hats.

Kiel School also conducted a food drive during the performance. Collected food was donated to Angels in Cowboy Boots, an organization that provides food to needy families, particularly those involved in the recent tornado storms in the southern United States. Kiel School will continue to collect food for the charity until next Wednesday.
