Butler Dancer Booted Off 'So You Think You Can Dance'

Amelia Lowe eliminated before the Top 10 moves on.

native Amelia Lowe was eliminated on Wednesday night's episode of "So You Think You Can Dance."

The 18-year-old was cut as the judges and voters selected the Top 10 dancers who will go on tour and continue on in the FOX television dance competition.

Throughout the competition so far, Lowe . However, judges had mixed reviews of her Wednesday night performance of what was called "The Butt Dance."

The dancers were tasked with performing routines chosen by choreographer Mia Michaels. Lowe and her partner, Will Thomas, practiced with Michaels before the performance.

"I'm feeling a lot of pressure because the entire audience is going to be staring at my butt the whole dance," Lowe said in a pre-taped interview.

The performance did feature booty grabbing and simulated slapping, but judges seemed more focused on Lowe's looking at the ground while dancing instead of making eye contact with the audience.

"When you're looking down, look at someone in the audience," judge Mary Murphy said.

Murphy did seem to enjoy Lowe's performance though.

"Amelia, you know, you are just exquisite to watch dance," she said.

Resident judge Nigel Lythgoe described Lowe as "a wonderful character" but said he felt she could have brought more character to her performance.

"You danced it well, but this routine required just a little bit more than dancing," he said.

Ultimately, Lowe was eliminated based on votes from , prior to coverage of the Olympics. The remaining contestants will continue to perform on the show, which airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. on FOX.
