She made it through the first three rounds of the FOX hit show "American Idol" by recommendations of the show's three judges, but on Wednesday night, it will be up to viewers to decide whether native Elise Testone moves on in the competition.

"The judges have shown that she's got the talent, now it's up to us to push her through," said family friend and Kinnelon Councilman Jim Freda.

Testone advanced to the Top 24 last week, according to The Digitel Charlston, after wowing judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler with her rendition of "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World." The Charlston vocal coach is a 2005 graduate of Coastal Carolina University and a 2001 graduate. Testone spoke to Tri-Boro Patch about what life was like growing up in Kinnelon and how the natural surroundings played a role in her singing career.

Now that Testone has made it to the Top 24, she, along with the other contestants, will be performing individually before a live audience and asking viewers to call or text a phone number that will be displayed on the screen during her performance to vote for her. According to the Frequently Asked Questions about voting on American Idol's website, a person can vote as often as they would like through the toll-free telephone number or text messages, however they can only vote up to 50 times online per performance per show. Online voting is available to Facebook users.
