Farm Features Grass-Fed Meat, Poultry and Eggs

Snoep Winkel Farm is one of the vendors at the Butler Marketplace.

The Butler Marketplace comes to town with fresh produce and baked goods the second Saturday of each month. Among the vendors are farmers who use local produce to make products. For the next few weeks, we will highlight some local farmers whose crops and creations are for sale at the Marketplace. The next marketplace will be held on June 6 at River Place.

  • Name:  Timothy Reid, an employee of Snoep Winkel Farm in Branchville, NJ.
  • Products:  Snoep Winkel Farm sells grass-fed beef, pork, lamb, chicken and farm fresh eggs.
  • What’s Unique: “It’s all grass fed,” Reid said. According to the farm's brochure, the animals “are not fed any hormones, steroids, or sub-therapeutic antibiotics.” Reid explained, “It’s delicious and healthier for you because it is all grass-fed. It’s unique because it is a small little local farm. You get it directly from us, rather than going to the big supermarket to buy your meat.”
  • Why The Butler Marketplace: “It’s easier for us to sell directly to our customers,” said Reid. Snoep Winkel Farm participates in more than seven area farmers markets throughout the year, including the Butler Marketplace. The farm also hosts a stand at their 70 George Hill Road, Branchville location. In addition, Snoep Winkel Farm eggs can be found at Whole Foods Markets throughout New Jersey.
