Galaxy Diner Serves Comfort Food With Consistency

The wind was picking up and dark clouds were rolling in as my guest and I were walking into the where the manager opened the door and greeted us saying how crazy the weather was that day. He walked us in and sat us at our table and immediately made a great impression. The restaurant was clean and appeared to be a nice place for couples and families.

My dinner guest and I decided on sharing the zucchini sticks ($5.99) which we generally love, but it is rare to find them in all restaurants and diners. They arrived golden brown and served alongside a marinara sauce that was very flavorful.

For my meal, I went with the Happy Waitress ($7.29) which is a grilled cheese sandwich served open-style with bacon and tomato. The tomato was warmed throughout and bacon was crisp, making a perfect comfort sandwich you would expect from a diner. It came with a pickle, coleslaw, and French fries. While the pickle did not look appetizing, I passed on eating the pickle and dove right into the French fries. The fries had an extra crispy exterior as if they were coated before fried, giving them the perfect crunch and a great taste to every bite. 

My guest went with the Pizza Burger with Cheese Fries ($7.99), which he greatly enjoyed. According to him, it was a typical diner hamburger, cooked perfectly, and was up to expectations.

The bakery items offered at the diner are homemade off site by a company that makes them especially for the Galazy Diner. All daily specials, which are located on the message board greeting you when you arrive, are served with dessert and coffee or tea.

Galaxy Diner is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers specials daily. They are available for dine in, take out and catering.

“We are open 7 days a week, 364 days out of the year. The only day we close is Christmas Day. We are here rain, sleet, snow, shine… we are consistent,” said Matty, the manager. Not only does this diner serve great comfort food, but you can find comfort in knowing they will be there to serve you when you want it-nearly every day of the year. Their menu consists of American food, several entrees and specialty salads and is affordable on all items.

Hours of operation are everyday from 5:30 a.m. to midnight.
