How much money does your current level of health and current lifestyle cost you? If you put your health at a high priority, you may find that it doesn’t cost as much as if you didn’t care so much about your health.
Are your grocery bills too high? Check to see how much junk food and fast food you eat. These items typically cost more than fresh, organic products. Do you go out to dinner a lot? One night out can cost more than a week’s worth of quality groceries. I highly recommend people to track their expenses, not just for health purposes. You’ll be shocked and probably appalled at how much money gets wasted on items you don’t need, use once or there was a cheaper alternative.
Do you constantly alternate diets, and have to keep a few different sizes of pants around to suit your fluctuations in weight? Maybe the cost of a nutritionist would actually cost less than eating junk food on a regular basis. Plus it would clear up all the confusion as to “what diet do I follow?” There is nothing that guarantees success more than a lit path to travel on.
How about the long-term effects? Are you losing money at work because you have to call out sick frequently? Are your medical bills too high from all the doctor visits you make? What about prescription medications? Do you need them mainly because you don’t focus on treating your body well? How many years off of your life is your lifestyle costing you?
We should all hold our health at a higher priority level than we do now. In the long run, our health is one of the few things that we can influence, and one of the few things we will take with us through the gauntlet of life. Being healthy sure would make life’s challenges a bit easier to deal with.
If being unhealthy is costing you too much, reorganize your spending and concentrate on getting yourself well. Speak with a nutritionist, shop for healthier food, and stay active. A healthy body will take you a long way if you take proper care of it.
Not only will it increase your life span, but it will make the current days better and better. Feeling energized in the morning, able to move without aches and pains, and just the feeling of confidence that comes with looking good is worth any cost. Another day of putting off healthy choices is a day wasted.
