Bacon Lures Missing Puppy Back to Safety

9-month-old dog, who was used to train fighting dogs in New York City, was missing since Friday.

Bacon helped rescuers find Misty on Monday.

Misty, a 9-month-old pit bull puppy missing since Friday, ran away from her foster home in Riverdale on Friday.

She appeared as volunteers cooked bacon in a backyard to lure her home, NJ.com reported.

Erin Early-Hamilton, Misty’s foster owner, told the website that “the whole thing is unbelievable.”

Hamilton offered a $2,000 reward for the dog’s return.

Misty was found on a Brooklyn street corner earlier this month covered in cuts and bruises. She was used as bait to train fighting dogs.

“It’s amazing,” said Jackie O’Sullivan, a partner with Second Change Rescue, the organization that took Misty in and nursed her back to health.
