The Borough of Bloomingdale has kicked off its annual Toys for Tots program, in conjunction with the U.S. Marine Corps., and will be collecting toys at the borough municipal building.
"The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U.S. Marine Corps. in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas," the borough wrote in a press release.
Those wishing to contribute should drop off a new, unwrapped toy to the borough clerk's office inside the Bloomingdale Municipal Building at 101 Hamburg Turnpike. Toys will be collected until Dec. 14.
"The ultimate success of this program depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate the toys," the press release said.
