Bloomingdale Population Becomes More Diverse

African American, Asian populations increase in borough.

The has seen a growingly diverse population over the past ten years, according to information released Thursday by the

Bloomingdale's African American population more than doubled since 2000, increasing from 32 residents to 87. The borough saw a spike in its Hispanic or Latino population (714 from 332), as well as its Japanese (4 from 1) and Vietnamese (8 from 2) populations.

The borough also saw a small increase in senior households, from 176 to 237.
