Boonton Ave. Retail Application to Be Discussed This Week

Retail Application for Boonton Ave. Space to Be Considered

The Kinnelon Zoning Board of Adjustment will continue to hear testimony from the developer seeking to build a retail and restaurant space on Boonton Avenue, at the site of the former Marco's Market, on Tuesday. The developers of HMR Properties, LLC, have appeared before the board in the past, initially seeking to include office space in their proposal for a two-story, 10,000-square foot mixed office and retail building on the 9.5-acre site., but later agreed to drop the office space plans from the application.

The board will continue discussion on the application, originally carried over from the March 5 meeting, beginning at 8 p.m. in the chambers at the Kinnelon Municipal Building on Kinnelon Road.

Bloomingdale Council to Host Special Meeting

The Bloomingdale Council will host a special meeting Monday at 8:30 a.m. to discuss amending the temporary 2013 municipal budget and award a turf and maintenance contract. The council will not meet again this month until April 23.

Butler Council to Meet

The Butler Borough Council will meet for a work session on Tuesday. At the council's last meeting, members voted to introduce the borough's 2013 municipal budget. As introduced, the budget would mean a tax increase of about $45 for the average assessed home.

While there was only little discussion by the public and council in regards to the budget at the March 19 meeting, the council is preparing to host a formal budget hearing this month.
