Butler Day and Municipal Meetings This Week

Lots happening in the Tri-Boro

: Sunday is Butler Day. This free event from the Butler Recreation Commission and Board of Education runs from 3-9:30 p.m and  features music from local DJs and bands, food, vendors, amusement rides (unlimited-ride wristbands $12) and more. Also on tap: a fireworks show. The Butler Day festivities take place at the Butler Sports and Recreation Complex, 40 Mabey Lane in Butler. 

A bit less festive, but equally meaningful: The Bloomingdale Council meets to discuss matters municipal Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Borough Council Chambers in the Municipal Building, 101 Hamburg Turnpike. 

This week's Tri-Boro get fit event features core fusion, a blend of Pilates, yoga, stability ball and core work designed to build strength and enhance tone. Innovation Fitness Solutions offers a Body Core class Wednesday at 7 p.m. at 1574 Route 23 in Butler. Class cost is $15.

 There is double the bang for the municipal meeting buck Thursday: The Butler Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Butler Hugh School Library, 38 Bartholdi Ave. At 8 p.m. the Kinnelon Borough Council and mayor will gather at Kinnelon Municipal Building, 130 Kinnelon Road. No preview agendas were available at press time.

Safety Town registration is underway for incoming kindergarteners. The program runs from Tuesday, June 25 through Friday, June 28 at the Kiel School, an early childhood education school at 115 Kiel Ave. in Kinnelon. More information on the program is available on the Kinnelon Public Schools website or call 973-838-0611, ext. 212. The program cost is $45.
