Charity 5K will Help Support Bloomingdale Firefighter

Bob Kochka was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer a few months ago.

A charity run will raise money to help a member of the Bloomingdale Fire Department.

Bob Kochka was diagnosed with stage four Pancreatic Cancer earlier this year. The borough is hosting the Bob Kochka 5K to support the Kochka family. The event will also raise money for The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, a non-profit organization named after Marc Lustgarten, a former Cablevision executive who died of Pancreatic Cancer when he was 52.

The event will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Walter T. Bergen School and will end at Delazier Field. Bloomingdale Pride Day will follow the run.
