Chilton Running on Generator Power

Hospital lost electricity at about 7 p.m. Monday.

Chilton Hospital is still up and running, despite completely losing power at about 7 p.m. Monday.

David Gourley, executive director at the hospital said they were "fully operational" via generator power and were still able to take new patients.

Power had gone on and off several times over the course of the early evening, he said, but they went completely dark about an hour ago.

"We're still providing all essential services," Gourley said. "We don't have as many lights on as we usually do, but the hospital is still fully operational."

He said information would be available on when power is restored at the hospital at chiltonhealth.org.
