Foot of Snow, Few Outages Reported in Tri-Boro Storm Aftermath

Kinnelon OEM warns that wind could still bring snow-laden branches down.

Just over a foot of snow was dropped on the tri-boro as the Kinnelon Office of Emergency Management shared information on their Facebook page from the NOAA declaring 12.5 accumulated inches of snow fell in Butler on Friday.

"Branches are laden with heavy snow, so some additional branches may come down," the Kinnelon OEM said.

While residents dug out their driveways Saturday morning, the Kinnelon OEM said little to no power outages were reported during the storm and no significant damage had been called in.

The snow, itself, is particularly moist and heavy, OEM said while warning residents to be careful while shoveling.

"This snow has a higher than average moisture content and is heavier than normal. Often first responders have to attend to residents who over exert themselves during the clean up process," the office said.
